We're mothers... and fathers,
sons, and daughters, friends relatives and neighbors, looking
out for each other.
And you.
We are...
Respected
Since our founding in 1980, Mothers Against Drunk Driving
(MADD) has received significant support from the general
public in our mission to stop drunk driving, support the
victims of this violent crime and prevent underage
drinking.
MADD is…
- One of 100 best charities in America*
- One of three most credible organizations in the
country**
- Best liked charity among women (No. 1), Caucasians (No.
1) and African Americans and Hispanics (No. 3)**
*Worth Magazine, 2001
**Chronicle of Philanthropy
Rational
MADD does not respond to issues with a knee-jerk reaction.
Our policies, programs and messages are based on solid,
defensible science.
MADD is not against drinking for legal adults; however, we
do support the legal drinking age because we want to protect
young people from the serious dangers and consequences caused
by alcohol both to themselves and to others. MADD is not a
prohibitionist organization.

Working with MADD… What’s in it for you?
A 2002
Cone Roper survey concerning consumer spending habits showed
that 65 percent of those surveyed were likely to switch
brands, when price and quality are equal, to support a cause.
And 80 percent said that a company’s commitment to causes is
important when they decide what to buy and where to
shop. In the current corporate climate, consumers
are looking to support businesses that give something
back.
Consumers will support businesses that give
back.
The American public knows MADD. When Gallup asked
what groups are working to stop drunk driving, unaided this is
what they said:
77% MADD

17% SADD
