Election of Officers
The next meeting of the Northern Virginia Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the chapter office: 5881 Leesburg Pike, Suite 500, Falls Church, VA 22041. The primary purpose of the meeting will be to elect the chapter officers for the Fiscal Year 2003-2004.
The nominating committee has proposed a slate of candidates to run for the chapter offices. These nominations are:
Dan Ingram, President & S.O. Representative
Dan is seeking his third term as President of the chapter. He has been a member of MADD for about five years, after being hit by a drunk driver in 1996. He is an active volunteer at most of our annual events including the Red Ribbon Run, Vintage Virginia Designated Driver Tents, etc. Dan has also spoken at local schools, churches, businesses, and ASAP panels. As Chapter President, Dan is also our spokesperson and has done numerous media interviews. He has also served as Secretary/Treasurer, and Vice President of the chapter. Dan has represented the chapter at both state and national organization events and has traveled to Richmond to lobby our State Delegates and Senators.
Steven Hill, Vice President
Steven is seeking his first term as Vice President of the Northern Virginia Chapter. He has been a member of MADD NoVA, since his four-year-old son was killed by a drunk driver (repeat offender) on October 17, 1997. Steven also has served as a victim advocate for MADD NoVA for four years, and chairs our victim advocate committee. He is also an active volunteer at many of MADD's annual events including the Vintage Virginia Designated Driver Tents, K-Mart Teen Drug Zone, Health Fairs, etc. Steven has also participated in African American Coalition panels and Impact panels.
John Pinckney, Secretary/Treasurer
John has been a member of MADD NoVA since he was injured by a repeat offender DWI in a crash on November 28, 1994. He has served on the Board of MADD NoVA since 1996. He has held the office of Secretary?Treasurer, and S.O. Representative. He is currently the chapter's Vice President. In addition to his chapter duties, John is the Chairperson for MADD Virginia State.

Next Major Volunteer Event
As we have done for several years, the chapter will be staffing the Designated Driver booths at Vintage Virginia this year. The dates are June 7 & 8. If you would like to volunteer to help us at this fun event, please call the office (703-379-1135) to get your name on the list.
