Election of Officers

The next meeting of the Northern Virginia Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 21, 2002, at the chapter office: 5881 Leesburg Pike, Suite 500, Falls Church, VA 22041. The primary purpose of the meeting will be to elect the chapter officers for the Fiscal Year 2002-2003.

The nominating committee has proposed a slate of candidates to run for the chapter offices. This year, each of the present officers has indicated a desire to run for reelection and the nominating committee has nominated them for reelection. These nominations are:

Dan Ingram, President
Dan is seeking his second term as President of the chapter. He has been a member of MADD for about four years, after being hit by a drunk driver in 1996. He is an active volunteer at most of our annual events including the Red Ribbon Run, Vintage Virginia Designated Driver Tents, etc. Dan has also spoken at local schools, churches, businesses, and ASAP panels. As Chapter President, Dan is also our spokesperson and has done numerous media interviews. He has also served as Secretary/Treasurer, and Vice President of the chapter. Dan has represented the chapter at both state and national organization events and has traveled to Richmond to lobby our State Delegates and Senators.

John Pinckney, Vice President
John has been a member of MADD NOVA since he was injured by a repeat offender DWI in a crash on November 28, 1994. He has served on the Board of MADD NoVA since 1996. He has held the office of Secretary?Treasurer, and S.O. Representative. He is currently the chapter's Vice President. In addition to his chapter duties, John is the Public Policy Liaison for MADD Virginia State.

Sue Baldassari, Secretary/Treasurer
Sue has been actively involved in Northern Virginia Chapter for 3 years, since being injured by a drunk driver in February 1998. She currently serves as the Chapter's Secretary/Treasurer and is MADD's representative to the Fairfax Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) Policy Board. Sue's volunteer activities include: Victim Impact Panel Speaker; Speaker at local schools; Media/Public Service Announcements and representing MADD at miscellaneous volunteer events.

Jeff Levy, State Organization Representative
Jeff is presently the chapter's State Organization Representative. Has been active in MADD for 5 years having been a volunteer, Victim Impact Panel speaker, high school and college assembly speaker and member of MADD's National Commission on Colleges. He became active with the NoVA MADD chapter after his son was killed in a drunk driving crash in 1997.
