Speakers Available
Does your school, club, business or group need a meeting speaker? MADD has a very active Speakers' Bureau which provides dynamic speakers to audiences throughout Northern Virginia. These speakers can discuss MADD and drunk driving issues before groups of all ages from elementary school students to senior citizens. Multimedia and video presentations are also available. For information or to schedule a speaker, call us at 703-379-1135.


FREE Victim Assistance -- Available 24 hours/day
If you are a victim of drunk driving in need of assistance, please call our office at 703-379-1135. If you get no answer, please call MADD's toll-free help line at 1-877-MADD-HELP to speak immediately with a counselor who is ready to help you.


Victim Impact Panels
Although MADD Northern Virginia provides speakers for victim impact panels, we neither schedule them nor do we do any of the paperwork or administration. If you have been court ordered to attend a MADD Victim Impact Panel (sometimes called a MADD VIP, MADD Victims Panel, MADD class, or MADD meeting), you need to call these locations for information and to register: Alexandria ASAP: 703-838-4266; Bull Run ASAP: 703-369-7979; DC RID: 301-890-7993; Fairfax ASAP: 703-279-2600; Fauquier County Adult Court Services: 540-349-3138; and Loudoun Adult Community Corrections: 703-777-0207. Be sure to mention that you are calling to get information about attending a court-ordered MADD Victim Impact Panel.

The 2009 MADD Red Ribbon Run 5K Race
originally scheduled for December 31, 2009
has been CANCELLED

We regret that what would have been the 15th Annual MADD Red Ribbon Run has been cancelled. We hope to have the race resume on New Year's Eve next year. For more information, check back here in the Fall of 2010.

  • 11,773 people died in alcohol-related crashes in 2008, marking a 9.7 percent decline. While a significant improvement, there is still a long way to go to put a stop to this preventable tragedy.

  • There were 294 drunk driving fatalities in Virginia in 2008, an 11 percent decrease from the previous year.

  • Alcohol is America's #1 youth drug problem, killing more youth than all other illicit drugs combined.

  • In 2007, there were 1,529 youth (16-20 years old) killed in alcohol-related traffic crashes, accounting for 29% of all youth traffic deaths.

  • MADD served 55,000 victims last year.
